Our Mission

The Chamber is dedicated to advocating, promoting, connecting and educating local businesses toward the ultimate goal of business growth and sustainability. It serves all business sizes from small to large, including non-profits, utilities and the service sectors. Its Shop Local/Buy Local theme is targeted specifically toward the retail sector. The organization hosts over thirty programs and events a year designed for networking and connecting businesses. The Chamber serves as a communication conduit between Town Hall, the business community and town residents.

Advocating for the Business Community

The Chamber, through its website, directory, programs and continual outreach, is a reliable advocate in communicating issues that affect the more than 4,000 businesses that operate in Greenwich. It makes the public aware of its town legislators and leaders through its “Meet Your Town Leader” educational series. It serves as a marketing and advertising vehicle for Town Hall communications such as the Planning of Conservation and Development document, First Selectman speeches, Aging in Place initiatives, updates and issues that affect the public. The Chamber works closely with Town Hall in creating the Chamber’s annual Sidewalk Sales event, one of the largest annual public events in town, attracting thousands of shoppers to central Greenwich for four days. It publishes a widely communicated Annual Greenwich Business Survey that reflects the concerns of its members. It has created the opportunity to meet political candidates. It brings town association groups together to share and disseminate information.

Promoting Business

The Chamber’s website allows businesses to deliver their message through directory listings, news releases, event listings, job postings and Hot Deals specials. Social media is actively used to promote new and existing businesses through the Chamber’s Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram and Twitter feeds. Sponsorships and advertising opportunities are afforded to businesses through the Chamber’s monthly eNewsletter and its numerous events that range from casual networking to tabletop exposition to its Annual Awards and State of the Town Luncheons.

Connecting Business

The Chamber collaborates with numerous other chambers to participate in events such as the Tri-Chamber Expo at UCONN, Forty Under Forty Awards and American Express Small Business Day.

Monthly networking After Six events are designed to bring businesses and site hosts together so attendees can learn about a new or existing business while being afforded the potential to ultimately help each other. All events include networking opportunities either before or after an event for this outcome.

Educating Business

Educational seminars created by the Chamber allow businesses to learn the latest about a wide range of current topics including How to Use Google Effectively, How To Write a Business Plan, Website Security, the Latest on LinkedIn and many more updated subjects presented by Chamber member businesses. The Chamber’s paper and eBook directories include information on the various areas of our town. Its website is robust and affords businesses, residents and viewers town information including transportation schedules, volunteer opportunities and job postings.
