  • We are busy planning some really exciting events honoring our Chamber's 100th Anniversary in 2017.

    We hope you will join us in our year of celebrations! Below is a list of some of our planned events.

    Our Chamber's Annual Awards Ceremony
    11:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
    Hyatt Regency Greenwich

    Join us for our iconic event of the year where we honor our local town heroes. Throwback pictures from “the day” will be displayed throughout. Take a walk through history as we applaud our local celebrities.

    May After Six at Togas

    5:30 - 7:00 p.m.


    Please join us for our May After Six networking event at Togas, the luxury Greek-based bespoke boutique, as it celebrates the arrival of its first U.S. location in Greenwich. Established in 1926--just nine years after our Chamber!

    June After Six at Greenwich Hospital


  • July 13-16
    Sidewalk Sales

    Special gift bags, fan giveaways and more. Join us for a very special retail celebration as we honor our 100th anniversary. Mark your calendar! Sidewalk Sales are always held the second week of July, Thursday through Sunday.
  • July 31
    Our Chamber's Birthday!

    Our Chamber was founded on this date in 1917. 
    Join us at our Town Hall for this proclamation event declaring this date "Chamber Day."

    Our First Selectman, Chairman and President will be at Town Hall for a historical photo op. Join us!


  • August
    Best of Greenwich

    Visit our Chamber 100th-themed table at this fun yearly event that showcases local businesses.


  • September 6
    Golf Outing
    Join us for our yearly Golf Outing. We will have special raffle prizes related to our historic past. Have your foursome join us as we raise a glass (or two) to celebrate our special year afterwards.

    Our State of the Town Luncheon

    Our First Selectman will acknowledge our Chamber's accomplishments over the past century. Join us as our First Selectman shares his vision.


  • October 25
    Oktoberfest at McArdle's

    Join us as we raise a mug of beer and relive past Chamber history at this fabulous organization that was started in 1910.


  • November
    Enchanted Forest

    Visit our Chamber-inspired tree at the Junior League of Greenwich's Enchanted Forest annual fundraiser. The purchaser of our “very special” (shhh, it’s a secret until we roll it out) will be a BIG WINNER in many ways!


  • December 7
    Annual Holiday Party at the Bruce Museum

    People are still talking about last year’s event that is always held at the historic Bruce Museum. Your last chance to relive the past with our historical throwback pictures on December 7th.

    March After Six at Greenwich Historical Society

    Greenwich Historical Society provided the perfect networking venue to help us celebrate our 100th year of business and commerce. Below is an excerpt from the slideshow they crafted for our event - a perfect tribute to our town's vibrant history.

      This is a view of Greenwich in 1917, the year the Greenwich Chamber of Commerce was founded.

      Electricity changed many things for the Town. By 1914 more than 12 merchants had electric marquees that were kept lit until 11:30 p.m.

      William E. Finch, Sr.’s pharmacy was located where Starbucks is today. He became president of the Chamber in 1920 and documented the civic role of the Chamber for 20 years in scrapbooks that are now in the Archives at the Greenwich Historical Society that was dedicated to his son William E. Finch, Jr. in 1987.

      On Conscription day 2,218, young men registered for service in World War I. That was more than 10% of the total population of the Town.

      The Chamber of Commerce spearheaded the creation and dedication of a WWI memorial in 1928 in the Municipal Town Center.
    • 6-Greenwich-Ave-Parade-widening-w450.png
      Greenwich’s population more than doubled between 1910 and 1930 to 33,000. In 1932 a parade celebrated the widening of Greenwich Avenue.
    • 7-Greenwich-Ave-preservation-w450.png
      Greenwich Avenue was designated an Historic District in 1978, followed shortly thereafter by the designation of the Municipal Center Historic District (outlined in red). The surviving buildings of historic significance date from 1878 to 1940.
